December was fuelled by wonderfully festive campaigns and deliciously creative ads. The mouth-watering month featured Christmas drink inspiration and pub incentives, as well as an interesting but tasty collaboration to celebrate KFC’s gravy.

Join us as we take a closer look at a few of our favourite industry updates, campaigns, and projects from December in our latest creative round-up…

Malibu fans enjoy ‘A very Malibu Christmas’ with over-sized advent calendar experience

Rum brand favourite, Malibu, shows it’s not just for Summer by creating a Caribbean Christmas pop-up experience for its consumers .

The UK’s no.1 coconut rum brand brought some festive cheer to the streets of Cardiff and Liverpool in December with the introduction of its ‘naughty or nice’ over-sized advent calendar. Here, fans of Malibu had the chance to step into Christmas with gift prizes including branded glassware, a bar tab at Las Iguanas, or something from Malibu’s first ever line of Christmas merchandise from its cosy fashion collection.

Giving some of the best Summer accessories from 2021 a festive twist,  the collection features furry bucket hats, fluffy stockings and faux fur sliders, all inspired by Malibu’s iconic white bottle.

The winter pop-up also served some deliciously festive drinks from a classic Pina Colada and refreshing Watermelon Snow-jito, to an indulgent Malibu Hot Chocolate.

Malibu might be a refreshing Summer drink but it’s clearly one to enjoy over the winter months too.

KFC teams up with LadBible to host the ultimate festive gravy boat party

Following on from the unlimited gravy card competition, KFC pushed out all the stops when it hosted a gravy boat party in partnership with LadBible .

Similar to KFC’s Black Card which entitles a select few holders to receive free meals every day, the one and only gravy card will give a lucky winner an unlimited supply of KFC’s signature gravy over a 12-month period.

With such a focus on KFC’s gravy, the much-loved chicken brand got creative and hosted a gravy boat party at Canary Wharf’s West India Wharf Dock.

KFC superfans had the chance to be invited on board by DJ Suat of “Gravie Boat Party” who played a festive song, promoting the good atmosphere that KFC offers. What’s more, those on the gravy boat were able to receive their very own KFC orders, making it a truly festive rave in the heart of London.

Gravy is celebrated all year round on Sunday roasts and of course, on KFC chicken, so for one lucky gravy lover, they now have a year’s supply.

Guinness lights up 22 pubs across Britain with boozy Christmas lights

Guinness got into the festive spirit to spread some joy to 22 lucky pubs across Britain by illuminating them with bespoke and quirky light displays .

In the hope of a better Christmas than 2020, Guinness set out to celebrate the return of community hubs, so commemorated this occasion by kindly footing the bill for those still recovering from the effects of the pandemic.

With several pubs being brightly lit up in London, the fabulously festive displays not only captured the attention of tourists and Christmas shoppers, but it also increased footfall for the pubs at what would ordinarily be the busiest time of the year.

Guinness really did make this the most wonderful time of the year for those lucky landlords and we loved to see the local pubs of London being lit up.

Make sure you pay us a visit next month to catch up together on the latest creative work in the industry throughout January.
