Food is GREAT Britain… The Great Food Campaign Celebrating the Best of British

Have you heard of Food is GREAT Britain? This great food campaign was launched in April 2012 with a reception at 10 Downing Street that brought together some of our finest chefs, restaurateurs and food producers to celebrate and promote the best of British food and the excellence of our British restaurants.
The London Olympics has given Britain a fantastic platform to shout about all things British, which is why this initiative is so timely. One of the central aims is to attract businesses and visitors to Britain –encouraging local business marketing, showing them what we have to offer and just how great our food tastes!

This food campaign is sponsored by Visit Britain – in partnership with the Sustainable Restaurant Association and in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport – to highlight to visitors what we have to offer in terms of quality, our high welfare standards and the widespread availability of excellent local produce. Extensive media and video advertising , such as an informative Youtube campaign video with some of our most celebrated chefs extolling the virtues of British food, ensures widespread coverage and attention.
